We hold a practice event the first
Sunday of every month. We do hold practices December-January or July-August weather permitting. All sighthounds are welcome, in fact, we encourage all breeds and also mixed breeds to come out for a bit of fun!
You may want to consider arriving at the meet
earlier in the day, or plan on staying later into the afternoon to take
advantage of the club's informal "talk sessions." This time provides an
opportunity for people interested in expanding their knowledge about coursing
to talk to the club officers and experienced members about general dog
care and conditioning, basic first-aid tips for coursing dogs, and allows
for a hands-on explanation of how to set up and operate the coursing equipment.
We do hold official LGRA events, please check our LGRA page for more information and dates. from 10:30 AM - 2 PM (or thereabouts)
DIRECTIONS: Take your best route to the PA Northeast extension, I-476.
Take the Lansdale Exit 31 (Kulpsvile, Route 63). Make a right at the end
of the exit, onto Rt 63 West. Follow Route 63 West (Away from Kulpsville
and Philly) for approximately 6 miles. The site is on the right side of
the road, You'll see a metal sign: Jacob Schmidt & Son, 1936 Sumneytown
Pike (same as Route 63), Harleysville, PA. If you cross the intersection
of Routes 63 and 563, you have barely gone too far. (the coursing field
sits in the wedge between the two roads) For a map of the location Click here .
NOTICE: On days when the LVCC hosts informal
meets, we will NOT host coursing practices when weather conditions impact
the safety of the dogs on the field. If there is a doubt as to a cancel
or delay of a scheduled event (usually due to extreme heat or rain/snow), check
this page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lvcoursingclub/?yguid=260174454 where we post cancellations, or call one of the club officers. CLUB MEETINGS: LVCC meets on the third Wednesday
of every month. All are welcome. For information on the meeting place
and time, please contact one of the club officers. If you need directions
to any event location, check out www.mapquest.com for regional maps,
